Golden Bride will come to an end beginning of Februray. Can you believe it has been half a year since the pilot episode debuted? (1st episode premiered on June 23, 2007)

I thought it’s a good time for us to to list our fav Golden Bride moments from beginning episode to recent ones. So many favorite scenes, but only a few that immediately popped into our head when we think of the drama, lets list them, shall we?

My top three favorite Golden Gride moments as of ep 54:

    1. The first time Junwoo sang to Jinjoo in public where he booked the entire restaurant to ask Jinjoo out on a date and serenaded her with a song simply titled, ‘Love’. What I like about this scene is the promises he made to her about him never change and will always stay by her side. At this point, Jinjoo hasn’t grown out of her securities, her goal in life was to be the woman that is right for Junwoo. She cared much about what people think of her as a foreign bride who isn’t up to par with Korean women. He said not to worry about what other people views on them and that she isn’t lacking in anything. He looked and sounded sincere when he reassures his love for Jinjoo, thus, my fav no.1 moment.

    2. Jinjoo put her pride aside and kneel in front of Madam Client to secure Junwoo’s position at C&P. The scene of them crying outside the hospital was heart wrenching, the emotion of the scene was well delivered. I like the part where he hugs her tightly and said what is he going to do with her as if he was saying how can she be so naive and that he can’t protect her from others (throughout the show, he repeatedly said he doesn’t like to see Jinjoo suffer). It’s a rare moment where they cry together, normally, it’s Jinjoo who’s crying and he’s by her side to comfort her.

    3. I can’t leave Jiyoung out of the top three, she’s the one that continue to give us so much talk about. I like all Jiyoung and Junwoo’s scenes especially after he bitch slap her on the face in episode 16 - the part where he specifically told her to apologize to him sincerely, so he can forgive her and move on with his life. That scene provided much suspense, but I love the following scene where Junwoo words are cruel and probably cut Jiyoung to the core.

Jiyoung found out Saemi is Junwoo little sister. She accused him of plotting against her, she then begged him to help her break Youngsoo and Saemi apart. She said if his love for her was true, then he will help her. He coldly reply saying she doesn’t have the right to say the word love in front of him, and she’s nothing but thrash that he has thrown away. Ouch!

I am going for all the major highlights in this drama. There is many great scene and I am so spolit for choice but I am going with two of what i think ‘hit’ me the most.

Episode 17 where Jun Woo made the connection of his feelings for Jin Joo. He finally learned to trust someone he loves again and from then on with so much passion. I loved that the rain finally washed some sense into him.

Two, the episode of the honeymoon resort, the second time where Jun Woo wanted to make up for the bitter memory the first time they were there. This time it is Jin Joo’s turn to finally know that love has nothing to do with requisits and that she should have more faith in Jun Woo and herself. Their love did not come easy so therefore it will also priceless. I loved that passion displayed in this scene of a couple in love although we have a lot of bedroom scenes between our couple but it has a domestic feel to it.

Three, I will leave it for the BIG truth coming out and how it is going to be handle. So I am reserving this.

Well I’ve held out on writing this because I’ve had a hard time picking my favorite top 3 Golden Bride Moments. There have been a lot of them. But, the ones that have stuck with me would definitely be…

#1 - Ep. 17 where Jun-woo finally see’s the light and feels that love that has been creaping inside his heart for Jin-joo. His bold manuveur in coming into his parent’s room to protect Jin-joo was the beginning of their journey together. He once said he was incapable of LOVE. Well if he didn’t LOVE her he wouldn’t have come in to the room in her defense and take all the blame. The rain was just an added bonus to wash away all of their doubts and their pain so that they could begin their life together.

#2 - All of those Episodes where it was Jun-woo’s turn to reassure his young wife, the love of his life, that he wasn’t going anywhere. That his love for her wasn’t going to change. He was always going to be there. Telling her to be strong. Nevermind what other’s think, and so on. It showed us all the amount of LOVE that these two had for each other. Jin-joo helped Jun-woo get through his most trying of times and now he’s there for her providing her the strength she needs. We all saw it go down when Jin-joo went head to head with Hoobae in the Cafe and pronounced that she was the one who was there to hold Jun-woo’s hand and be with him through good times and bad when things were at his worst. Then to fully prove her point, Jin-joo stated the obvious…If Hoobae truly loved Jun-woo all this time then where was she during Jun-woo 3 darkest years. I was like “You go girl! You tell her!”

#3 - Would definitely be the life lessons that Golden Bride has been able to show us all. In some small and some VERY big ways. It was these life lessons that has kept Golden Bride so appealing and has been able to keep our interest for this long. We’ve all seen redemption, forgiveness, and failure. We’ve learned that letting go of things we can not change lead to happiness - through Mrs. Kang. That without heart and thinking of others leads to a destructive path for your life - through Ji-Young’s painful life’s journey. That living with rose colored glasses can break your heart - Young-min. That Patience, Understanding, and Love can save you - Jun-woo and Jin-joo. There are more life lessons of course. Because all the character’s have in some way taught or shown us… Mrs. Kim, Mr. Kim, Jin-joo’s mom, and so on.
