Swimming pool scene. Oh couldn’t deliver the emotions after many retakes. Oh asked for a 5 mins break but was turn down by Lee. Jang couldn’t stand the constant retakes that Lee asked, finally

During the shooting of this scene, Soon Yoon Ah to whom I believe have not swimming skill or next to none, had a hard time doing this scene. When Park Yong Ha push her in, there was a diver in scuba gear in the water trying to keep her a float. She shown some fear in the water.

Lee: At that moment, I knew that what the result will be, that sooner or later when we collaborate together, I know we will argue continuously. At times I will not able to tolerate you. This I know all too well & also will get tired. I know this will happen that why I came here (jetty) again.

Seo: What did you come to know of it?

Lee: Man who goes & rescue ladies from the water, both of them may get too tangle to be unravel.

Sunrise. OST time again. (In the photography term. This is what we call the magic hour. There is 2 time in a day where you can shoot this. It is at dawn in the morning & dusk or twilight in the evening. This atmosphere usually cannot be copied artificially, because of the many colours its radiant) Oh at her room, Jang at the balcony, Seo at the jetty & Lee at the swimming pool location each had a look at the sunrise from their own individual perspectives & had time to ponder.

Seo”s Asst: Asst PD Choe came back yesterday first to prepare the planning & he brought the shoot materials back.

In the film term, we will call them rushes, but as it is a digital video format, I don’t know what they are call. The tape are usually call U-matic tapes. It will go straight to editing to do a rough cut. After the rough cut, it will be shown to the Director for viewing. It is usual for Director & Editor to have good relationship as to relay what the Director wants from his movie. Most Director have their own prefer Editor as preference

Lee: Don’t get yourself all work up. There is always the airport taxi & buses.

Seo: Where are you leading in this? The script quality can bring death to the artiste. PDs only have to do projects, so that is why my name is on the script on the cover of the script.

It is seen that most people will remember if an artiste have done a bad movie or drama. It is never in people’s memory that a PD or a Director have done a bad or disaster movie. So the artiste impact on what they do is of importance, hence the script selection & of course the amount of fee each episode hold.

Seo: I say. You really need to emphasize the Episode 16’s mushy script, cannot be tolerate. We drank so many cans of coffee & ate gimbaps together, doesn’t give any assurances. In front of cast & crew, you can said that the script was mushy. That time you were the loudest voice in the shouting match. So it is better to settle the differences with PD Lee. I beg you.

There is many alternative version. It will be station decision to use which version. In the film industry it is usually boils down to the people who food the budget, eventually the Directors themselves have no say to the end product. This is the likes of many films these days, as the movie studios wants the movies to be in theatre in the amount of frequency in daily showing. Unless you are Michael Cameron who have a “hands off” policy on his films.

If this is the Editing room. I was far better off at least. I had a sofa/bed & a sizeable room cum office. This room is way to cramp. She (Editor) looks very comfortable in her surrounding with her track suit & soft toys. Editor are indoor creatures, they don’t get much sun. Well this is the TV Station. I was working with advertising agency in which we need to entertain the Clients to view their CF (Commercial Film). Packaging is essences in that business. Seo’s office. Seo with Lee listening to the demos of OST tracks. Seo seems to enjoy it. Then she realize it was Cherry’s vocal. Lee told her, it is CEO Jin’s doing. CEO Jin threatens to redraw his investment, if it wasn’t so. Seo gets all work up that she doesn’t like artiste to see OST tracks. Lee asked why is she need to be involve with other matters not in her concern rather then of her own in which she should be spending more time that being concern with other matters related to the production. Lee asked why does she need to always agree to what the Fat lady feeds her. Seo told him that they have to depend on PPL for their survival. She complaint how she had to write a script to shown a particular mobile & the number of time call had to make from the mobile. Lee asked whether it is a bother for her, she agrees, but she had no choice. If it wasn’t for the PPL, her drama will not have gone overseas to shoot a location, Oh Seung Ah wouldn’t have been on board & the interest of the crew to be in it. the TV Staion only gave half the budget to the drama, the rest of the finances had to come from other sources like PPLs. Seo told him she is Dream House’s writer. Seo do owe some gratitude to the Fat Lady. Lee reiterated that her job in Dream House is to come out with good script & let the Fat Lady deals with the others. As for the OST, she was enjoying prior to being told it was CEO Jin & Lee have no qualms with it

CEO Jin’s office. Fat Lady bangs the door open & asked why she was told of the OST. She had give the rights to the Angie Music. CEO Jin gave her back by saying that she had did the same. Dream house is using SW Entertainment’s money & should get something in kind & yet being treated casually. Hearing 2nd generation news from others rather than her. CEO Jin said she is not up with the times of style & trend with Angie Music. CEO Jin reminded that Fat lady is again the next time she wants to come & see him is to make an appointment & to bring reports on the progress of the drama & when she leaves to close the door gently. CEO have invested 300 million in to Dream House. (I would think he is looking into his investment welfare)

Seo’s office. Seo having a meeting with the actresses Asst. Each brought a portfolio of the wardrobe. Seo asked them the style of Eun Sok & Eun Young’s characters are so apart in differences & yet the portfolio given is of great similarity. “Why it both their eyes do are they see the same things”. She asked them not to repeat the mess up at the 1st day of shoot where it became chaotic when both actress were seen in similar clothes. Seo asked them to go back & look at the script & in their best judgment to come with the wardrobe. If it deem not right, she will threaten to ask Lee to asked the actress to change their outfit every single time. The Assts went off to revised their portfolio.

Seo Asst comes in to mentioned that the drama is going to have a B team PD, the PD is none other that PD Song Su Chul. B team is another set of PD & crew who do auxiliary shots. PD Song Su Chul is SBC top PD. Lee is not in good terms with Song. The B team main role is to shoot supporting shot. For an example, if A team is shooting the master scene then Team B will cover the secondary shot in the same location. The current set up, due to lack of crew. Lee is only using one team. He had been told that Song have agree to be on it.

Station Chief made a remark that to asked Lee to treat Seo better. It was Seo who told him if he fires Lee, she will resign from the project. If he didn’t think of the importance of this drama would have been, he wouldn’t have entertain Seo’s request & bid her goodbye. Lee realize what Seo had done.

Lee is not happy with the Station decision on the matter. Song being so reputed, being asked to lead the B team. The Station chief said he was free & Lee will have Song to gain some experience from his insight. Other staff added some insult that Song will threaten his position as PD. Song came in at asked for the script & schedule. Song asked Lee, he had heard he went overseas to shoot & asked if there were any incidents. Lee said where there is no location without its problem. Song then told him coldly that depend who is the PD. Song assures that he is the Team B PD & he will do as he’s told. (I hope Song will keep his working atitude professional. Crew have hierarchy, so I hope he respect that & not to cross the line with Lee)

Lee asked for the schedule & asked why Oh Seung Ah is not in the schedule. Asst PD Choe said that Jang have asked to delayed her schedule by another day for Oh to rest. Lee was angry why Asst PD Choe allow them to do so, when they want to. It looks like Lee is being side step by so many people.

Seoul Community Rehabilitation Centre. Jang bring Oh to the centre. Oh came out of the car to see it was a Community Rehabilitation Centre. Oh wasn’t happy to be there.

Oh: Why are we doing here? Are you mad? Why do you bring me to such a place?

Jang: What is such a place? You don’t know what is the reason behind that I brought you here?

Oh: Don’t beat around the bush? I’m not interested

Jang: I brought you here with good intention. I thought you will be happy. Here there are many people who is similar to the likes of Eun Young’s state of mentality. Be in direct contact with them, would be better. What they like to eat? What music do they like to listen?

Oh: It is all written in the script. The script is enough for me to act.

Oh goes back to the car. Jang stop her

Jang: Why wouldn’t you. I thought you will be happy

Inside the Community Rehabilitation Centre. Children playing around. Jang was playing with some kids. Oh sulking & just sat there & watch. Then a child runs, trip & falls in front of her. Oh went to help him up but hesitated. The child in turn took her hand & use it to support himself up & didn’t let go of Oh’s hand. Oh felt warm from the child

Oh: Are you alright?

Child: I’m alright. The whole day I been falling. I’m alright. It is not painful. Thank you

Oh: Oh? Go & play

Child went on his way to his play. Oh looks at her hand. Jang smiles at Oh being warm up to the child. Oh then leaves. Jang gave chase.

Jang: He is a 3rd degree mental disability. People who meets him for the 1st time, may think he is just a shy person. It was my 1st impression when I met him

People with mental disability in their own world have full of confidence in the world that may have prejudices towards them. They are more in trust with people rather that us who always have to analyse before doing. They are very spontaneous with their actions. An avid horse rider myself, I went to Australia for a horse riding holiday to Melbourne. In the Riding centre, they conduct a program call Riding for the Disable (RDA). It is to help disable children with their motor skill. It is a great therapy. I met a Down syndrome child, who could take a horse & jump over a 5 feet solid wooden fence with easy. I who is normal, will think twice to attempt that kind of jump. You see what great trust she has on her horse.

Oh Seung Ah does a lot of gym kind of exercise i.e treadmills, lifting weights to tone her body. So if you do this exercise, I will more like to said sport, the main energy food protein they eat is chicken.

Jang: Are you doing this on purpose. Does this house have any malt sugar. If there is, I will just like to eat it with that.

The saying goes is if you serve malt sugar, it is to say you are doing things on purpose. Malt sugar are generally use as a marinate or dressing. It like saying I will eat my rice by pouring soya sauce.

Oh: Didn’t you read episode 3 in the script. Eun Young, she after her parents’ death was eating this kind of food everyday. Compare to I doing it, this is better.

Oh is taking Jang’s instruction on the immerse with a character to the T

Jang: You are really. Without a flint of the eye, you can reveal your real intention (She is doing this purposely)

i find the story of KJ and SA more interesting than KM/YE’s story.. the PD and scriptwriter’s story is way too common in many drama.. they began fighting and arguing and ends up together.. just so..
