Asst Kim even told him that rumour has it the Jang blackmailed Oh Seung Ah with some illicit tapes for her contract. There is a great rivalry between a drama name “Shim Chon”. I presume it is from a rival channel. It is also another of this Korean tear jerker. It stars Song Seon Hun (so they say) falls for a terminal ill girl, But had a change of heart & love someone else. The formulas to all great kdrama classic of amnesias & cosmetic surgery to return as another identity. This drama is giving “Ticket to the Moon” a run on the money. The Station Chief wants to catch the ratings & asked Lee to lengthen the episode for the previous 60mins to 80mins. Sources have it that the first 4 episode of “Shim Chon” is running at 80 mins, to change the audience, the Station Chief was being asked by his bosses to do the same thing. A eye for an eyes tactics.

There is also a matter of principal. They are paid according the running time of the episode. If the Station were to lengthen the episode running time. It means that the Station will have short change Seo & other on remunerations. Lee argue on principals but the Station heed none of his concerns & force it on Lee to tell it to them. Lee will have to strengthen the Episode 1 & 2 & reschedule Episode 3 & 4. Seo need to add additional material to each the episode to make it 80 mins.This is the great wrangling power of major TV stations. Nobody will dare to offend them.

As most of us who see these dramas will know that the 1st episode plays & important to capture the viewers’ attention. Who is starring in it? What kind of story. If the failure of Episode 1, then the rest will be history.

Asst then receive a call to inform Seo that the Episode need to be lengthen to 80 mins. Seo is shocked.

Seo went to the Editor to fins out if they can salvage any thing . Editor told her that they are lacking about 10-11 mins of footage. Seo is being told that the commercial slot have not been sold due to the a drama called “Goodbye North Korea” is being more popular with advertiser. Most big TV earned their revenues form advertiser. Seo had to go back to the drawing board.

Lee asked Oh not to follow exactly to the script as it is just a text. (It is often said the that literate word is a dead (motion) without administration. The script have to be realize visually by the performance of the actors). Oh asked for a 10 mins break to recollect..

Then Lighting PD asked to have a small betting pool what the rating percentage will be. It is 10,000 a bet

Lee: I bet 20%

Cameraman Hong: It is fierce. I bet 11.7%

Lighting PD: If you a small figure can win, But you really in for it, if I prediction is correct I’m betting 50%

Oh: 24.9% The last week broadcast is at that rate.

Oh Asst: 9.1%

Continuity Girl: I bet 15.2%

There are about 1500 of them & it would not make a difference. Seo’s mother said what if the 1500 conspire not to see then will the drama be doomed? Chun Yu asked Ajimoni to save her breathe as Seo has already mentioned many times but his grandmother would not listen

Lee at the Broadcast Studio. Asst PD Choe rushes the material for broadcast. Technician complaints why do they have to make things so nerve-wrecking on the day of broadcast.
