    Chorus: Arrgggh!!!!!!!

Kim Hong Do turns around to catch Shin Yung Bok in a single movement into his arms, both have a moment to exchange glances then Shin Yun Bok realise that the wind screen who had not had any support is about to fall on them

Shin Yun Bok: Arrgggh!!!!!!! The wind screen

Kim Hong Do supports it just in time. In an awkward position, where he was holding Shin Yun Bok with one arm & has to support the wind screen with the other. A very comprise position

    Chorus: Oh!!!!!

Kim Hong Do realise the awkwardness, laughs & throws Shin Yun Bok onto the ground. Shin Yun Bok moans on the ground

Kim Hong Do: What do think you are doing? Didn’t I ask you to carry the wind screen in?

Shin Yun Bok gets up as they was a curious crowd are watching them

    Shin Yun Bok: Yes….yes

Shin Yun Bok goes & carries the wind screen

Kim Hong Do: The wind screen was nearly being damage. Goodbye

Kim Hong Do takes leave with Shin Yun Bok following behind carrying the wind screen

    Dohwaseo Pavilion

Shin Young Bok: The boy has gone to the latrine, why is he still not back from it yet?

Commentator 3: If he gone there, he need to finished completely before he can come out of it

Apprentice shouting on the arrival of Kim Hong Do

Man Bu: He is here….he is coming. Mr Kim Hong Do has arrived. Tam Won? What?

As Kim Hong Do enter from behind, the apprentices scram to their places. He inspects & scans the apprentices like a hawk as the apprentice could feel his sharp stares at them. He goes to Man Bu:

Kim Hong Do: May I ask what is your age?

Man Bu: This year, I am already 35

Kim Hong Do: Aigoo! Then you are a Hyung Nim

Man Bu: Aigoo! No I can’t be refers to as that. Please treat me as casual. Just casually will do, Mr Tam Won

Other apprentices were giggling. Kim Hong Do turns around to silence them

Kim Hong Do: Well! Well! Casually

He comes to the front & shouts

Kim Hong Do: What are you waiting for? Why aren’t you bring it in?

Shin Yun Bok brings in the wind screen

    Shin Yun Bok: Yes

Shin Yun Bok takes it from the back to the front side stepping on others. Commentator 2 puts his leg out & nearly trips Shin Yun Bok.

Kim Hong Do: Put it down here

Shin Yun Bok opens it up & returns to her place

Shin Young Bok realise why Shin Yun Bok took so long at the latrine. Jang Hyo Won stood up

Jang Hyo Won: The journey must have been hard on you Mr Tam Won

Kim Hong Do turns to Jang Hyo Won:

Kim Hong Do: Who are you?

Jang Hyo Won: My position is I am Apprentice Monitor of the apprentices, Jang Hyo Won. What is the class doing? Hurry up & sent greetings to the teacher

    All: How are you?

    Queen Jeong Sun’s chamber

Jeongjo is playing Chinese chess (Qiangqi) with Queen Jeong Sun

Jeongjo: Today Mr Tam Won finally starts his lessons. “Gua yan” (“I” that is how the King address himself) am really curious to know what method of ways he is going to use on the matter, aren’t you also feeling the same way?

Queen Jeong Sun: In 10 years the world have change a lot. I am more worried on what method of ways that he might use

Queen Jeong Sun makes a bold move on the chess board

    Dohwaseo

Kim Hong Do: Today’s lesson. We will copy from a model of the paintings from this wind screen

Jang Hyo Won raised his hand

Jang Hyo Won: Teacher! Copy from a model was taught on the previous lesson

    Kim Hong Do: Is it?

    Queen Jeong Sun’s chamber

Jeongjo: It may be so. But I do feel that Mr Tam Won’s method will not be the convention method that others perceive

Jeongjo eats Queen Jeong Sun’s (the chess piece marked “horse” an equivalent to a ) “knight” on the chess board

It looks like serious chess players

    Dohwaseo

Kim Hong Do turns the wind screen upside down. Everybody looking in awe

Kim Hong Do: Shall we draw it this way?

    All: Eh?

    Kim Hong Do: Let’s start

Jang Hyo Won thinks it is a joke, but Shin Yun Bok looks at it with some interest

    Queen Jeong Sun’s chamber

Queen Jeong Sun: Wouldn’t his method that he going apply will be most suited to be able to find that apprentice? This point is still can’t be determine yet, do you think so?

Queen Jeong Sun eats Jeongjo (piece is mark as “elephant also have the same sound as Minister” I think an equivalent to a) “bishop”

Jeongjo: Yes it is, it may need to use a method that is most suitable

    Dohwaseo

Kim Hong Do: Each of you will draw the picture, you will tend to memorise the whole picture in your mind. Once you attempted to start drawing, you need to have the whole picture in the head before you start to move that brush of yours. This have been turned upside down, don’t you think there is another fresh perspective to it

    Queen Jeong Sun’s chambers

Jeongjo: There is an ancient saying “Dynasties will change, but attitudes don’t”, Ma Ma

Jeongjo picks up a “horse” chess piece

Jeongjo: Mr Tam Won, no matter if it was in the past before or even now present, it is still an excellent horse (steed)

Jeongjo places the “horse” nearest to the Queen Jeong Sun’s chess territory

Jeongjo: It is “Jang gun” (General or Checkmate)

    Jeongjo smiles

    Dohwaseo

Kim Hong Do: Come & look at it, can you not use your mind to be able to store the picture & copy but to able to use your mind to draw as it originally, to have a renew perspective in looking at it

Apprentices are taking notes. Shin Yun Bok gazing

    Queen Jeong Sun’s chamber

Queen Jeong Sun: Chusan’s actual ability to change with each passing day

Jeongjo: That is because of Ma Ma’s allowing for Sueson (Grandson) to do so, that I am able to do it

Queen Jeong Sun: So it seems

Queen Jeong Sun takes her “Cannon” (equivalent to “castle”) & place out of her boundary

Queen Jeong Sun: Check to block (pong gun), then after check mate (Jang gun)

(If one side perpetually checks & the other side perpetually chases, the perpetually checking side will have to stop or be rule to lose).

Queen Jeong Sun takes a sip of drink as the chess game become intense

Jeongjo: Having a game with Ma Ma is like threading on thin ice

Queen Jeong Sun: Who will be the victor, we need to wait for that last & final move before deciding? Don’t you think so?

    Dohwaseo

Kim Hong Do: You have always been comfortable with what you are used to, now you need to use a fresh perspective in looking at it. The artist is always be prepare, is the most 1st important key point

Shin Yun Bok fully agrees to Kim Hong Do’s explanations

Episode 2 Punishment of Crushing of the hand

Pil Chul’s office. Pil Chul name is Jang Byuk Soo

A painter comes in to report to Jang Byuk Soo. Most probably his spy on Kim Hong Do

Jang Byuk Soo: What is he doing, Tam Won?

    Spy: That is…

Jang Byuk Soo: What is he doing?

Spy: He asking the apprentices to copy from a model of a painting

Jang Byuk Soo: He just asked them to copy from a model of a painting

    Spy: Yes

Jang Byuk Soo: Letting them copy from a model of a painting

Spy: Yes, it is also place upside down

    Jang Byuk Soo: Upside down?

    Spy: Yes

Jang Byuk Soo: Upside down? Have asked him to investigate, he turns the wind screen upside down? Jie! Jie!

    Dohwaseo Pavilion

Apprentices having a go at it

Kim Hong Do: What is a painting?

Everybody went to look for the answer in their books

Kim Hong Do: It is not written in the books. You need to say it with your own words with your best understanding of your knowledge of what it is? What is painting? You! (Commentator 3)

Commentator 3 stood up to answer

Commentator 3: Ah! Yes, painting, is putting what is in front of your eyes into paper to draw it out

    Kim Hong Do: Rambling

    Next is Shin Young Bok

Shin Young Bok: Yes, a painting…..painting

    Kim Hong Do: Next!!! You

    Next is Commentator 2

Commentator 2: Painting needs to use the brush…

Kim Hong Do: If you don’t use a brush, can you use a ladle to draw?

    Next is Jang Hyo Won

Jang Hyo Won: Yes, painting is to capture a moment in a moving world’s environment

    All: Oh!!!!

Kim Hong Do looks at the reaction of awe from the apprentice on Jang Hyo Won’s answer

Jang Hyo Won: This points that this world, where Chusan Chona have yet to see places, as to role of us artist is to captures this moment for the Royal Household & its authority

Kim Hong Do applause Jang Hyo Won “righteous” answer” followed by others

Kim Hong Do: What is your name?

Jang Hyo Won: I have said it before, my position is the apprentice monitor, and Jang Byuk Soo the Pil Chul is my father. I am Hyo Won

    Kim Hong Do: You!!!

Jang Hyo Won: Yes, Mr Tam Won

Kim Hong Do: You are really a man of many irrelevant words. You are still a person who has yet become an artist. What is in your mouth is already speaking like one? Fine, Again. Is there anyone else who will like to give it an answer? Artists like you have never given any thoughts of the meaning of what is a painting!!!! Why did you all come to Dohwaseo then? You are all just a group of scrawls

Shin Hang Pyeong looking out his window. Yi Yin Mun, a painter is arranging his brushes. Yi Yin Mun is a Royal Bureau Artist & a friend of Kim Hong Do. Shin Hang Pyeong turn to him

Shin Hang Pyeong: Hey! Yin Mun

    Yi Yin Mun: Yes

Shin Hang Pyeong: Honestly speaking, do you what lesson is Mr Tam Won giving?

Yi Yin Mun: It is hard to say. He is just said to wait & see

Shin Hang Pyeong: Wait & see?

Shin Hang Pyeong is thinking hard, darting his eyes from side to side

    Dohwaseo Pavilion

Everybody had stop painting, while Shin Yun Bok is still busy at her drawing

Kim Hong Do: That little brat who is still moving his brush. You, young wretch!!!.

Shin Young Bok signal Shin Yun Bok to stop drawing

Kim Hong Do: You come & answer it. What is a painting?

    Shin Yun Bok stood up

    Shin Yun Bok: Painting?

Commentator 3 whispering to Man Bu

Commentator 3: Will this be correct this time?

    Shin Yun Bok: Ah! Painting!

    Paused a while

Shin Yun Bok: Isn’t it the meaning to represent miss & long for.

Kim Hong Do is curious by her given answer

Kim Hong Do: Is it? Why do you say it is?

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, Missing & longing can become a painting, just like a painting of a person is something that someone longs for, isn’t it?

    Kim Hong Do: Continue…

Man Bu: Wah! The answer is not bad

Shin Yun Bok: If there is someone you yearning missed & long for, because you often think of her, so that is why you put paint that someone on paper. That comes to the results that you miss & long for that someone when you see that painting

Kim Hong Do: Miss & long for a person can become a painting? Then…..

Shin Yun Bok: If we see that someone on the painting, even if we would have forgotten her earlier, it will bring back that sense of miss & long for. Isn’t that why people will yearn, miss & long for that someone in the painting?

Kim Hong Do: To see the painting will bring a sense of miss & long for….

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, It is to say….it is to say. Painting represents the meaning of miss & long for

Everybody is surprise at Shin Yun Bok’s answer

Kim Hong Do: Miss & long for? Painting, is the meaning of miss & long for?

Shin Yun Bok was please with her answer as Kim Hong Do looks at her

Kim Hong Do: What is your name?

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, My name is Shin Yun Bok

Kim Hong Do looks at her. Then Kim Hong Do puts 9 dots on paper

Kim Hong Do: By tomorrow you need to find the solution to the question as your assignment

    All: Assignment?

Kim Hong Do: Without a slightest paused in your brush, you need to thread through all these 9 dots. Use common strokes to make into 4 strokes to complete it. Do you understand?

    All: Huh!

Kim Hong Do: Today lesson is until here

    Shin Yun Bok: 9 dots?

Jang Byuk Soo enters which looks like a very dusty pharmacy Cho Sek Shi. It shelves is fill with jars & jars containing strange solution & matter & old man a strange looking character is attending there

Jang Byuk Soo: Doctor!. Dr. Bak Bek

He looks like a chemist or an alchemist rather than a medical doctor

Bak Bek: Pil Chul from Dohwaseo, what do you want? Personally coming to my rundown Cho Sek Shi

Jang Byuk Soo: There is something I like to seek you advice

    Bak Bek: Sit down

Jang Byuk Soo: What is the reason behind turning the wind screen upside down?

Bak Bek: Turning the wind screen upside down?

    Jang Byuk Soo: Yes

Bak Bek: Upside down painting. If the painting is not seen in its true form, there is no use of it

Jang Byuk Soo: See it in its true form? A painting in its true form.

Jang Byuk Soo gave it some thought

Jang Byuk Soo: Ah! Copy from a model of the painting on the wind screen. The lesson had been taught before. The painting in its true form is already done. You are really indeed Dr Bak Bek after all

Bak Bek: Is that what really you need to observe in your eye?

    Jang Byuk Soo: Eyes?

Bak Bek: Do you think is this? (points to the head) This (eyes) is the artist’s ability because it need to observe

Jang Byuk Soo: You are saying that this method can see through an artist’s extraordinary abilities

Bak Bek: Of course, but who is the person who brought the subject of the assignment

Kan Byuk Soo: It is Tam Won

Bak Bek: Tam Won, Is it Tam Won? Is it that pain in the neck Tam Won? It looks like Dohwaseo is going to get very interesting.

    Bak Bek laughs

Jang Byuk Soo leaves the pharmacy in disgust.

Jang Byuk Soo: That old man, each time I see him, my temper will rise.

He blow the does from his clothes & walks off

    Dohwaseo

Official meeting with Jang Byuk Soo on the progress of the finding

Official: Are you saying that the investigation is being under way smoothly?

Jang Byuk Soo: I am in the midst of observing

Official is disappointed at the answer as his head is on the line

Official: How can you say it is under observation? The Queen Dowager had give her decree on the matter

Jang Byuk Soo: What? Why should it be a decree?

Official: The Queen Dowager felt that we handed the investigation of the matter to Tam Won, we ourselves are no lifting a finger on the matter. The Queen Dowager’s stern attitude towards this matter we can’t go through this obstacle in a breeze so easily. You should know all about the punishment of the crushing of the hand. Once that punishment contraption is out, we need to at least surrender a hand for it. This is the practice.

Jang Byuk Soo: I understand all too well. I have forewarn the senior artist & the artist to be caution to keep silent about the seriousness of the matter so as not ignite any fear among the apprentices & may have a riot on our hands. They just think that Tam Won is here to give them lessons. He should be quick in finding who the apprentice is

Official: I don’t really know if we can innocently wait that long for a result. What if, I said, if we can’t find out who is that apprentice. The Queen Dowager will definitely want someone to be responsible for the fault. This we are not so sure who that person might be. This is to say….

Jang Byuk Soo: This is to say, what?

Official: We could properly control Tam Won to do the task, you and I, our hands

Official takes a fan & chop it at his wrist to indicate what may happened to them

Official: Maybe we need to surrender it to the punishment. Are you listening?

Jang Byuk Soo: Is it really what the Queen Dowager had decree? That we need punish by using that punishment?

Jang Hyo Won & commentator 2 are eavesdropping on the conversation. Jang Hyo Won is shocked

Commentator 2: What are they saying?

Jang Hyo Won: They want to punish by using the punishment of crushing of hand

Commentator 2: Who? Who wants to punish by using the punishment of crushing of hand?

Jang Hyo Won: Don’t know? Said something about Tam Won, the after said about the punishment pf crushing of hand

Commentator 2: Tam Won? Mr. Tam Won, would it be

Commentator 2 running to spread the news

    Commentator 2: Bad news…Bad news…Bad news…Bad news

    All: What is it

Commentator 2: Mr. Tam Won…Are they crazy?

Shin Young Bok: What is it?

Commentator: That strange & weird assignment, if we don’t complete it

    Commentator 3: What if we don’t complete….

Commentator 2 showed the action of the most likely punishment. The punishment of the crushing of hand

Commentator 2: It will be dealt with this punishment

Commentator 3: Punishment of the crushing of hand. Is this true?

    Painter: Is this true?

Everybody practice on Kim Hong Do’s assignment

Kim Hong Do: Without a slightest paused in your brush, you need to thread through all these 9 dots. Use common parallel to make into 4 strings to complete it. Do you understand?

Commentator 3 is already eating the crush papers, Man Bu is cracking his head. Everybody is trying all ways to thread the dots in a single stroke. Jang Hyo Won is also finding it difficult. Shin Young Bok is trying to figure it out as he watches Shin Yun Bok doesn’t seem least bother about the assignment, she picks up the paper & looks through it & ponders on how it can be done as she plays with her brush. The rest everybody is tearing their heads out

All: Ah! I couldn’t care less anymore. What is this? This is really. This doesn’t have an answer at all. Quiet!

Cho Pal in an arts & literature shop. Cho Pal’s actual name is Kim Jo Nyun, one of the biggest business merchant in Han yang.

Kim Jo Nyun: Is that all that have been brought out?

Owner: These have been copied from all the complete works of “The Romance of Three Kingdom” all have been collected from all that is available in the market. A lot of readers are now looking originals for “The Romance of Three Kingdom”

Kim Jo Nyun: Is that so? Then tried & get it someone to do the copies. I will inform the our shop, you can go there to get the paper materials

    Owner: Yes

    Kim Jo Nyun: Let’s go

His female sidekick assasain Sasuke is with him, as they were about to leave, the owner stop him

Owner: Orrishin! Would you like to take a look at this for a moment?

Kim Jo Nyun: What is it?

Owner: recently there is an artist who brought in his works in. It is only 5-6 pieces. The response for it is not bad. Should we continue to place orders?

    Kim Jo Nyun: Is it?

Kim Jo Nyun takes a look at the art works

Kim Jo Nyun: Spring in the gardens. The flowers have blossom in full. In the midst of the spring’s scenery, red is the one that blossom the most (He is reciting the poetry review on the painting)

Owner: However, in the painting the trees only have green leaves; there is nothing about a red blossom.

Kim Jo Nyun: The flower blossom in on the man’s face. He must have drank liquor to have result in his face being red as like a flower blossom. This is very clever

Owner: Yes it is, It looks like this young artist’s work also have its talent in it

Kim Jo Nyun: His brush strokes are not bad.

The painting is signs “Sun Moon Mountain Person” (Il Wyol San Nim).

Kim Jo Nyun: It is Sun Moon Mountain Person (Il Wyol San Nim). Where did these art works comes from all of the sudden?

Owner: This I am not so sure. But he had said that tomorrow he will bring some more new art works over

Kim Jo Nyun: Is it? “Sun Moon Mountain Person (Il Wyol San Nim). The price must given to be fairly

    Owner: Yes

Kim Jo Nyun walks out of the shop

Shopkeeper: You are here, Da Ri

People in the street greets Kim Jo Nyun as he walk pass without taking any heed of the greetings

Street: You are here Da Ri

Kim Jo Nyun can only mutters the name

Kim Soo Nion: Il Wyol San Nim? Il Wyol San Nim?

Then we are revealed the identity of Il Wyol San Nim. It is none other than Shin Yun Bok. Shin Yun Bok drawing & sign the name Il Wyol San Nim then seal it with the Il Wyol San Nim.

Yi Yin Min looking at a stack of paintings with Kim Hong Do

Yi Yin Mun: Is this really all from the same person? The differences is vast

Kim Hong Do: It is drawn upside down. It is often to allow a person to draw it upside down, it is in the mind of the artist, so that is why it is able to produce such a strange painting

Yi Yin Mun: It is best said but to see this painting upside down, where there is such person who would be able to draw so beautifully

Kim Hong Do: Is it? How about seeing this pieces, is it alright?

Kim Hong Do showed a painting on the next table. Yi Yin Mun wanted to lift it up but Kim Hong Do stops him

Kim Hong Do: Ah! Use your eyes only!!

    Yi Yin Mun: Really!

The actual wind screen is place upright then flow down to the upside down painting as though it is like a reflection on water

Kim Hong Do: How is it? Is this the same or it isn’t?

Yi Yin Mun turns the painting around

Yi Yin Mun: How can this been drawn upside down?

Kim Hong Do: Oh Ho! You are like as before, don’t believe in people. Isn’t this what is drawn in the artist’s mind but what is drawn in front the eyes of the painter of what he can see. This is not for everybody to learn. You must naturally have the razor sharp eyes like the tiger in order to be able to achieve it

Yi Yin Mun: Then, who drew this?

Kim Hong Do stops Yi Yin Mun from knowing who is the person who drew the painting

Kim Hong Do: Now it is still too early

Nightfall. Man Bu, Commentator 3, Shin Young Bok at the fence

Man Bu: I have really never stay behind after class

Commentator 3: Ah! What can we to do? We need in order to protect the hand of ours, we need to come up with a solution together

Man Bu passes his pipe to Commentator 3

Man Bu: I have an apprentice in Dohwaseo for nearly 10 years. This situation I know of it well

    Lady: Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

A lady cuckoo carrying a child on the other side of the fence

    Man Bu: She’s here

The lady Cuckoo throw a rope over the fence

Commentator 3: What are we going to do?

    Man Bu: It is cold…cold

    Commentator: Grab hold of tightly

Man Bu tries pull the rope in, on the other end tied a package as they reel it in over the fence

Man Bu: Thank you, it is a great relief to have you around, Cuckoo

Lady: You definitely need to do your utmost effort. This year you need to pass that exams.

Man Bu: I will work hard, going to work hard

Lady Cuckoo is Man Bu’s wife

Lady Cuckoo: Do you want me to climb over? It been a while since I have seen my husband (So ban nim)

Commentator 3: Hyung! Ask her to come over

Man Bu: There is no nee. No need. No need. There is no need to do so. You definitely must not come over

    Commentator 3: Why?

Man Bu: The more we don’t see each other, will become fonder. Cuckoo!

Lady Cuckoo: What you say is very thoughtful? Then I will take my leave first to return home. Ah! In the biscuits, specially make some patterns on it. Husband you need to keep those to eat them yourself. You must.

Man Bu: Yes, I will. Also to you, don’t forget that you should take care yourself. Cuckoo!

    Lady Cuckoo: Cuckoo!

    She then leaves

Commentator 3: Hyung! Quickly. I am smelling the smells from the biscuits, I am starving to death

    Man Bu: Yes, Let’s go

Apprentices having a feast with Lady Cuckoo’s supper

Man Bu: It is all because yearning for to this husband, that she will make this supper

    All: Yes!!!!

    Man Bu: Have some more

Commentator: This is best, the best in the world

Man Bu: Come, come, come, let’s drink

Commentator 2 having a try at the 9 dots with Shin Yun Bok guiding

Commentator 2: Like this, here. (Pointing to the 1st dot on the left)

Shin Yun Bok: Then move to the right

    Jang Hyo Bok looks on

Commentator 2: Here (the 2nd dot)

Shin Yun Bok: Move to the right

Commentator 2: This (the 3rd dot)

Shin Yun Bok: Move to the right

Commentator 2: It is in empty space

Jang Hyo Won: You are stupid. The teacher doesn’t want us within the scope to understand the matter?

Shin Yun Bok: It definitely needs to be that way

Man Bu: Ah! You really don’t have brains, definitely need to be that way

    Other: Really don’t have brains!

Shin Yun Bok: Why? Definitely needs to be that

Jang Hyo Won: Starts from the left extremity dot

    Commentator 2: Here

    Jang Hyo Won: Yes

Then others added comments in guiding the directions, it up with a mess. Commentator 2 ended losing his patience.

Commentator 2: How is this really done? This is really, because of this, I couldn’t go to the gisaeng house. Will be tomorrow we also will not able to make it to the gisaeng house

Commentator 3: Now the atmosphere is very nerve wrecking, it will be better if we should go there the next time, Apprentice Monitor

Jang Hyo Won: You are idiots. If we don’t understand the flirtatious express & daydream can we be consider as artist. Since the ancient times, takes holding a bottle wine as like ink & takes a woman’s body as like a piece of paper. Isn’t it consider these as a true artist

Commentator 2: Yes it is, it is. Wah! So suave…suave, let’s go…go

Jang Hyo Won: You all must not leave any traces. Because of passing the knowledge of being distinguish & admirable (more like dissolute & loose), I have ask for the capital best “Geum Gi” (gayageum gisaeng Jung Hyang to come

(Gayageum is a Korean zither like string instrument of 12 strings, usually make out of silk. There are 13,17,18,21 normally in North Korea & 25 string variants)

Commentator 3: “Geum Gi” Gayageum gisaeng. Is she from Song Do, that Jung Hyang?

Commentator 2: Jang Hyang!!!!! Wah Apprentice Monitor Mansei (10 thousand years)!!!!

Shin Yun Bok doesn’t know what the other apprentice is so excited about

Commentator 2: We need to find solution to this matter quickly

The next day, Dohwaseo Pavilion. Kim Hong Do showed the answer on how to thread the 9 dots, in 4 strokes. All the apprentices are receiving punishment by stretching their arms out holding their ink stone in each hand. Ink stone do weight a fair bit of weight

Kim Hong Do: This is the answer. You all dare to say that there isn’t an answer. Weren’t you all putting your thinking caps together that you couldn’t even come out with an answer? What were you all doing together? How can you all become future Royal Bureau Artist to paint for the country. Dohwaseo will deteriorate with you group of idiots. Quickly end this

Jang Hyo Won: However, it is only that solution. The positioning of the strokes had already left the existing 4 corner frame.

Kim Hong Do: There are only 9 dots out there, there isn’t any what so call a 4 corner frame. Who ask you that there is a need to be within a frame. This is because you all have restricted yourself to do it within the frame, that is why you can’t find the answer. Break off from that frame, then you will be able to find the answer

    Kim Hong Do turns around

Shin Yun Bok: Teacher! If it is this way, then it only takes 3 strokes you can thread all the dots

Apprentices are suffering in agony under the weight of their ink stone

Kim Hong Do: Three strokes? Three strokes. It shouldn’t have any answers

Shin Yun Bok: There is an answer that exist & have yet to be discovered

Kim Hong Do: Then, you little brat, you should know the answer?

    Shin Young Bok: Yun Bok?

Kim Hong Do comes to the front tears the existing paper for a new clean sheet & puts 9 dots on paper.

Kim Hong Do: You come & draw it

Shin Yun Bok stand up & goes to the front

Man Bu: What is he trying to do?

Shin Yun Bok looks at Kim Hong Do, Kim Hong Do hands her the brush, she receive the brush with 2 hands, being watch in a distance peek by Jang Byuk Soo’s spy, then Shin Hang Pyeong join it to peek as well. The spy is shocked at his presence

    The Spy: Il Chul Orrishin

Shin Hang Pyeong just asks him to be quiet, as he watches the scene unfolds. Shin Yun Bok takes the brush from Kim Hong Do then goes to the paper & studies it. She then links with a shape of an opposite “Z” with the strokes going out of the boundary & coming back to link the dots, hence done in 3 strokes

Shin Yun Bok: Isn’t this is the answer?

Kim Hong Do looks at it

Kim Hong Do: In the perspective of the seriousness, the amount of strokes can’t thread this dots. This points on the top, the centre & the bottom, just lightly brush through. It can’t be consider that this had be thread through fully. Is it?

    Apprentices laughs

Shin Yun Bok: If you see this drawing, what Teacher said is also not wrong

Kim Hong Do: Is also not wrong? What do you mean?

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, just think about it when the strokes are lengthened. The strokes lengthen. The larger increase of the angle, the gradient will be steeper. In the opposite of the smaller decrease of the angle, the gradient you will discover that it will be slowing become narrower

    (A lesson in geometry)

Commentator 2: That kid? I can’t understand a word he is saying?

    Kim Hong Do: So….

Shin Yun Bok: So if the angle is smaller, the centre line’s gradient will be narrower

Commentator 3: What is this? What is he trying to do?

Man Bu: I don’t understand either.

Shin Yun Bok: Please look closely. This way there is infinity & endless

Shin Yun Bok runs out of the pavilion to emphasis her point

Shin Yun Bok: Without bound & restriction, continue to draw to infinity, then this stroke without limitation move back to here….

Shin Yun Bok then runs through & threads all her dots at the centre

Shin Yun Bok: Like this….continue…continue…continue to go in to the infinity boundless & endless continue to draw then the strokes angle & gradient will becomes narrower, it is to say that the centre stroke’s angle will be smaller, then after it can thread all through the dots.

Then Kim Hong Do pictures what Shin Yun Bok’s explanation, on how the strokes goes through infinity & makes it way back to thread through the centre dots along the way then to go off to infinity & return to thread the last dots & see it

Commentator 2: He can debate with Teacher on method

Jang Hyo Won: Yun Bok, where does he able to share any abilities?

Kim Hong Do looks at the drawing then at Shin Yun Bok who is please with her experiment

    Kim Hong Do: This…is quibbles

    Commentator 3: Quibble?

Shin Yun Bok: Why do you say that it is quibble?

Kim Hong Do: Answer need to be comprehensive. Everybody need to see clearly in order to understand is answer. Now that answer of yours, can you be able to showed to the people sitting out there to see it clearly

Shin Young Bok looks worried for his younger brother

    Shin Yun Bok: Yes….

Kim Hong Do looks at Shin Yun Bok

Shin Yun Bok: It can be done

Apprentices are in agony. Kim Hong Do is surprise by Shin Yun Bok’s remark

Kim Hong Do: Then come & try

Shin Yun Bok: However….please can you agree to let me have all the papers to be pasted at the sides

Kim Hong Do: You want all the paper pasted at the sides

Shin Yun Bok: Yes….also tens of ink stone ready to grind ink stick to ink, please

Kim Hong Do: Also tens of ink stone ready to grind ink stick to ink

Shin Yun Bok: You need to have these 2 things to be able to achieve it. I definitely can be able to thread that centre line dots

Kim Hong Do: Then what you are saying, if there isn’t an endless amount of paper & ink, then you can’t have it drawn out

Shin Yun Bok: Then it also to say, if there isn’t an endless amount of paper & ink, earlier it was said that it can’t be proof that you could be able to see it

Commentator 2: What is this then? Who is wining?

    Jang Hyo Won: Shut up!

Kim Hong Do: Everybody will want to end this lesson quickly

Kim Hong Do faces the class

Kim Hong Do: This question before it is solve, you need to keep in your heart to ponder deeply. Today’s lesson is until here

Apprentice drops their ink stones & leaves class. Shin Yun Bok takes her leave. As the apprentice leaves the pavilion, Yi Yin Mun comes in

Yi Yin Mun: Hey! Tam Won. How is it, have you found the culprit?

Kim Hong Do looks around, then Yi Yin Mun looks at the drawing on the paper

Yi Yin Min: Isn’t it? Ha! Ha! You really have your ideas

    Kim Hong Do smiles

Yi Yin Mun: Is he the one who drew the 2 paintings exactly the same person?

Kim Hong Do pacing up & down

Yi Yin Mun: Ah! How can it be like this? It looks like you have to painfully lose a very gift person. Who is this apprentice? Can you even tell that to me?

Kim Hong Do: Don’t be upset. Now it is still not the time yet

Kim Hong Do looks at the threaded dots

Kim Hong Do: I need to go & confront this boy

Yi Yin Mun: If you confront him what will you be able to so?

Kim Hong Do: if I don’t confront him, & accidentally crush a hand of an innocent kid, if it was you, will you be able to sleep soundly. You are really comfortable

    Kim Hong Do leaves

Jang Hyo Won in civilian clothes looking himself at the mirror. Commentator 2 is holding the mirror for him. Jang Hyo Won is a Yanban (Aristocrat).

Commentator 2: You look handsome, not bad…not bad

Jang Hyo Won: Are they all here yet?

Commentator 2: Don’t know, do you want me to bring them over?

Apprentices excited as they come in

Apprentice: Where is it? We are very energetic…not bad

Jang Hyo Won opens his scandal wood fan

    Jang Hyo Won: Let’s go

    Apprentice: Gently & slowly

Jang Hyo Won: Xu! (asking the apprentices to quiet down as they enter the gisaeng house). Enter quietly

Kim Hong Do walking the grounds of Dohwaseo spotted an apprentice like headless chicken. It is Commentator 3

Kim Hong Do: Little wretch!!! You there, looking so nervous, in this late in the night, where are you going?

Commentator 3: Yes, That…I am going out for drinks

Kim Hong Do is surprise at Commentator 3 dressing

Kim Hong Do: What? Look at you, are you a Shaman or something?

Commentator 3: No I am not, because it is Apprentice Monitor’s birthday, we have arrange an appointment to go to the Gisaeng house together

    Kim Hong Do: Gisaeng house?

Commentator 3: No, it is not, takes a woman’s body as like a piece of paper. Wine as like ink. We had arrange together to go & dissolute

Kim Hong Do: Take what as what? If I catch you all, I will let you all experience a taste of what hell is a beating

Commentator 3: I’m sorry, this is the honest truth. I had said that I didn’t want to go, it is not that I am lying

Kim Hong Do: Who is now currently at the lodging house (sleeping quarters of the apprentice)?

Commentator 3: Lodging house? Young Bok with Yun Bok

Kim Hong Do: I know, carry on

Commentator 3 is surprise that Kim Hong Do will allow him to leave

    Commentator 3: Eh! Yes

    Commentator 3 runs hurriedly

Shin Hang Pyeong washing & cleaning his brush & laughing. He is with Shin Young Bok

Shin Hang Pyeong: I have heard about what had happened at the lesson. I heard that Yun Bok solely find out about the way of an answer to that difficult question

Shin Young Bok: Yes. He had thought of a way that even Teacher would have never thought of it. Is it really great?

Shin Hang Pyeong: Of course it is. A peacock among the flock of birds. But…it has been long establish that the lance (weapon of hunting) can bring the head of the bird (dead). Do you understand what I mean? Therefore you need to really take care of her

Shin Young Bok: Yes Abuji. Please rest assured

Shin Hang Pyeong: Fine. What is Yun Bok doing now?

Shin Young Bok: She said she was tired, so she is going to bed early

    Shin Hang Pyeong: Is it?

Meanwhile at the Shin Yun Bok lodging house, Shin Yun Bok dressed in civilian clothes even stick on some false facial hair. Kim Hong Do is waiting outside the lodging house. In her room, Shin Yun Bok makes a dummy on her bed as an illusion. Shin Yun Bok playing with her false facial hair

Shin Yun Bok: It is alright

As Kim Hong Do walks closes to Shin Yun Bok’s lodging house, Shin Yun Bok takes her painting & blow off the light. Kim Hong Do sees the light off & waits to see what happens. He sees Shin Yun Bok sneaks out from the lodging house as Kim Hong Do goes to hide himself to avoid being detected. Kim Hong Do curious what is Shin Yun Bok up to as Shin Yun Bok scuffs the scroll up her sleeves, especially with the disguise of the facial hairs. Kim Hong Do then follows & trails Shin Yun Bok out to the streets

Kim Hong Do: Where is this boy going to?

Shin Yun Bok goes to a store to pick up an ornament & looks around suspiciously as though she know that someone is trailing her. Kim Hong Do goes in to hiding to avoid being seen by her

    Shopkeeper: Do you want it?

Shin Yun Bok: It is fine

Shin Yun Bok continues on his way. Kim Hong Do comes out from his hiding & went to the store to see what Shin Yun Bok was holding & continues to trail her. Shin Yun Bok knows that she is being follows & starts to beat off the tracks of the one who is following. In a busy dark alley loses her sight as Kim Hong Do goes searching, Shin Yun Bok was pretending to be a customer in a drinking tavern. She had already taken of her outer coat to be comfortably sitting. Once the coast is clear she left

Shin Yun Bok goes to the Art shop. The owner then pull her to one side

    Owner: Did you bring it?

Shin Yun Bok: I have brought it

Shin Yun Bok draws the scroll out from her sleeves & passes it to the Owner & he had a look at it

Owner: Wah! (laughs with glee then became serious) A Yanban (Aristocrat) holding to a servant girl’s hand.

    Shin Yun Bok: Then so….

Owner: Then this girl allows her hand to be hold by a man, the rest do you need not go any further. Of course this topic is really not bad at all, however….

Shin Yun Bok: However….what is wrong with it?

Owner: Now, this rock is slightly….

    Shin Yun Bok: This…rock…slightly

Owner: How should I put this & say?

Shin Yun Bok: Said what? What is it?

    Shin Yun Bok is agitated.

    Owner: This…there is slightly….lacking

Shin Yun Bok: Lacking? Where do you find that it is lacking?

Owner actually was to paid Shin Yun Bok’s works for a bargain, so haggled the price

Owner: Anyhow it is slightly lacking. But….The artist you are still very young, after this they will many more opportunities to come. No need to suffered disappointment, please continue to put utmost effort to it

Owner brings out 5 coins & passes to Shin Yun Bok’s hand

    Owner: For you

Shin Yun Bok: It is 5 nyang again. 5 nyang

Owner: It only me. It is only me that will give you 5 nyang for it

Other customers are coming into the shop & the Owner is trying to chase shin Yun Bok off his shop

Owner: Fine! Fine! Fine! Please leave quickly for home. Don’t forget to continue to work hard on it. We will see you next week

    Customer is the shop

Owner: Aigoo! Welcome, please come it

Customer: Do you have some fine products?

    Owner: Please wait a moment

Shin Yun Bok still linger around the shop when the Owner bid him to go away

Shin Yun Bok: I know, I will return next week

    Shin Yun Bok leaves

Customer: Is there really some new arrivals?

Owner: There is, freshly out from the paint works

Customer: Let us have a look at them then

    Owner: Yes

Owner then showed Shin Yun Bok’s newly brought in painting to the customer

The painting: The young man plucking a red azalea . Painted by Shin Yun Bok (This painting is still in existence. I think it is housed in the Gansong Art Museum, Korea)

Customer: The lady is looking behind gently being hold by her beautiful shoulder as though she is resisting him.

Owner: Aigoo! The bright eyes of that beautiful lady, who wouldn’t it not stir any men’s heart

Customer: It is. This is better that some scholar’s rough calligraphy works. This convention painting works is the most real to reality. The longer you see it the more you will appreciate the taste of it

As the camera pans the painting

Customer: Here….there is a strange rock here, it definitely feels that they are secret hidden conceal atmosphere. Wah! This artist is the most gift talent in the market. Gifted talent. How much do you want for this? 20 nyang 22 nyang

Shin Yun Bok is eavesdropping on the gentlemen’s conversation

Owner: Are you kidding? At least 50 nyang without giving any thought

Shin Yun Bok giggles at it

Shin Yun Bok: Oh! 5 nyang. But to have over heard such great reviews, it is all worth it.

Shin Yun Bok walks with her money only to have Kim Hong Do stop in her tracks. Shin Yun Bok looks at Kim Hong Do & walks away on the other direction but was with hold back by Kim Hong Do

Kim Hong Do: Where are you going?

Shin Yun Bok: Is there a matter looking for me?

Kim Hong Do: Look at you little brat….

Kim Hong Do holds Shin Yun Bok by the collar

Shin Yun Bok: Who are you anyway? What do you need to do this?

Kim Hong Do attempts to peels Shin Yun Bok’s stick on false facial hairs

Shin Yun Bok: Aigoo! Aigoo! Aigoo!

Kim Hong Do rips of the “moustache” from Shin Yun Bok to reveal who she is

In a drinking tavern. Kim Hong Do having a meal & drinks. Kim Hong Do drinks in a gulp as Shin Yun Bok timidly looks on. She tries to serve the drinks but Kim Hong Do wouldn’t allow her to do it

(It is customarily that you don’t pour your own drinks)

Kim Hong Do: Il Wyol San Nim?

Shin Yun Bok: I beg you can you close an eye on the matter. If my Abuji (Shin Hang Pyeong) finds out, I will be severely punished

Kim Hong Do: Then why did you do it in the 1st place, do you really need the money?

Shin Yun Bok: No it is not. From the beginning I had never thought of wanting to sell the works

Kim Hong Do: From the beginning you had never thought of wanting to sell the works, then when was the time you have thought of wanting to sell them

Shin Yun Bok: That…that…gradually there was rumours spread, heard that many people appreciate these kind of works

Kim Hong Do bangs this hand on the table

Kim Hong Do: You wretched kid, are you crazy? You have such a gifted talent that you can only sell painting works for just mere 5 nyang

    Shin Yun Bok: Eh?

Kim Hong Do pours wine into Shin Yun Bok’s wine bowl

    Kim Hong Do: Drink up!

Shin Yun Bok stood pause before deciding to take the drink

    Shin Yun Bok: Yes

Shin Yun Bok drink away from Kim Hong Do out of respect

Kim Hong Do looks at the painting

Kim Hong Do: Look at this young man…looking at this man…looking at this painting. Ah! This is really high…high. Looking at your drawings in the spring’s scenery. Let me hear it & see, why would you had come to draw this type of drawings

Shin Yun Bok: That is…I also don’t really understand it myself. It is that I also bring it in on what I always seen often on to the paper

Kim Hong Do: Really! It is innate…innate. You have done well. But why do you draw the woman view from her back facing away?

    Shin Yun Bok: Eh?

Kim Hong Do: That is the lady who is holding the straw hat on her back

Shin Yun Bok then realize which painting is Kim Hong Do was referring to

Shin Yun Bok: Ah! Ah! It is wicker hat (“Song Na” It is mainly a weather protectorate use by Monks). It is not a straw hat.

Kim Hong Do: Ah It is not a straw hat but a wicker hat

    Shin Yun Bok: Yes

Kim Hong Do nods. Shin Yun Bok wasn’t sure where Kim Hong Do is leading to his line of questioning

Kim Hong Do: Why did you draw view from the back?

Shin Yun Bok: That is…that lady’s view from her back is out of the ordinary. That kind…feels like as though the kind of sorrowful, that type

Kim Hong Do: It that why you took the brush & pen it?

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, without give a 2nd thought, this hand started to take up to draw

Kim Hong Do: So it is. This have arouse your inner feelings

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, it is really exciting, like the surrounding thousand of elements in the world have just freeze. All of that…

Kim Hong Do: Yes it is, at that flash of the moment you don’t get to see anything around you

Shin Yun Bok: Yes, that is correct. I was really like that

Kim Hong Do: You tend to forget what state you are in. Without Boundary. You have experience to that extend

    Shin Yun Bok: Without boundary?

Kim Hong Do: You had arrived to this stage

Shin Yun Bok: I do feel it

Kim Hong Do: You have experience to that extend

Kim Hong Do pours & drinks his wine then let out a sigh. Shin Yun Bok is overjoyed.

Shin Yun Bok: But…why are you sighing?

Kim Hong Do: Tomorrow, Dohwaseo is needs to carry out the punishment of crushing of hand

Shin Yun Bok: The punishment of crushing of hand?

Kim Hong Do: Need to find out the person who drew the painting, need to execute that punishment to him

    Shin Yun Bok is shocked

Shin Yun Bok: That is…what do you mean?

Kim Hong Do: What did you have to draw that painting? What is the use if you are a gifted talent? Then after you may not even be able to hold a brush & draw

Shin Yun Bok: Not even be able to hold a brush & draw?

Kim Hong Do: Do you still don’t understand what words that I am saying to you? Tomorrow, Dohwaseo needs to bring out & catch hold that person who drew that painting, need to execute the punishment of crushing of the hand. On the punishment apparatus, that will bring permanent damage to both hands. Then after you will not be able to do anything

Shin Yun Bok gets all work up that they should carry out such a punishment on her

Shin Yun Bok: Why need to permanent damage the hands, Teacher? Is that piece of painting wielded such a heaviest of punishment? What have I done wrong? Didn’t you say it is without boundary? But it is a piece of painting. But it is just a piece of painting. It can’t be…no…it can’t be. It is a piece of painting. I….need to go now

Shin Yun Bok takes her leave & put on her shoes

Kim Hong Do: Bok! Yun Bok! Come & sit down

    Shin Yun Bok: No need

    Shin Yun Bok walks away

    Kim Hong Do: Yun Bok!!!!!

Shin Yun Bok dazed through the streets. Flashback on how her father taught her to draw, playing with shadow play of a butterfly & then tracing the shadow on wall. Kim Hong Do taking her hand & guides her in her stroke when they 1st met. Weeping she starts to run down the street, out of breath stop in front of the entrance of the Gisaeng house

Customer: Why are you blocking the entrance to the place?

A gisaeng comes out to greet Shin Yun Bok:

Gisaeng: Omo! What a handsome & charming person? Quickly come in. Everybody have been waiting for you

Gisaeng hooks her hand by Shin Yun Bok’s elbow & walks in to the Gisaeng house

Shin Yun Bok: Who is everybody?

Gisaeng: Who else can it be? The young & beautiful. Like the ones like you, who is feeling down, you need to open up. Jung Hyang will be coming over

The room where the Apprentices are having a fine time

Commentator 2: Come! Come! Come! Congratulations!

    All: Congratulations!!!!

Jang Hyo Won drinks up in one shot

    Everybody applauded

Commentator 2: Which side do you want to start, left or right? Come start from the left,

Everybody drinks & is fed by an accompanied gisaeng. Gisaeng bring Shin Yun Bok to the room

Gisaeng: Just play to your heart’s content

Jang Hyo Won: Who is this here? Mr. Miss and long for. Painting is of miss & long for. Is it Mister?

Commentator 2: You, why are you here empty handed?

Shin Yun Bok: My heart had arrived here, it is alright

Shin Yun Bok is slightly tipsy from her previous drinking session from Kim Hong Do

Jang Hyo Won: Heart is arrived here

The brush holder is empty from its brushes & is filled with wine. Shin Yun Bok looks at it as it is being poured to the brim

Jang Hyo Won: Drink up! You bring that share of heart of yours, I need to see how sincere is it?

Commentator 2: A feminine little brat like you, how can he be able to drink that much of wine. Why? Do you want to start crying tears not to do it? Hyung Nim, I beg you

Everybody is laughing at Shin Yun Bok. Shin Yun Bok takes the brush holder & stood up

Shin Yun Bok: This wine what am I to be afraid of?

Shin Yun Bok gurgle it down at one shot much to the surprise of others especially Jang Hyo Won

Meanwhile Jang Hyang & her servant carrying her gayageum walking at the corridors

Shouts: Come, let’s play with me

A gisaeng playing the Janggu (an hourglass shape drum with 2 heads beaten using 2 bamboo sticks)

Commentator 3 is already piggyback a gisaeng, singing

    Commentator 3 Gently & softly, my love…..

Shin Yun Bok is still continue drinking why the rest is already on their feet dancing. As she is really much very drunk, the door opens slowly to reveal Jung Hyang. Jang Hyo Won is smitten by her beauty. She enters the room & takes her place. Everybody sat back on their places. Jung Hyang greets them

    Commentator 2: Aigoo! Beautiful…beautiful

Jang Hyo Won: You are Jung Hyang?

Jung Hyang: yes. I am Jung Hyang

(Jung Hyang is a gayageum famous gisaeng, so she only sells her music & not her body)

Commentator 3: You are really beautiful, really

Jung Hyang prepares her instrument to start playing

Jang Hyo Won: That will be fine, come over & sit here (by Jang Hyo Won’s side)

    Jung Hyang smiles

Jung Hyang: I am a “Geum Gi” I don’t entertain men

    Shin Yun Bok smiles

Shin Yun Bok: Still as before a whole body full of thorns

Jung Hyang looks at Shin Yun Bok & Shin Yun Bok looks back. Obviously know of each other from previous encounter at the cloth shop

Jung Hyang: The more beautiful the flower is, the more it will carry thorns.

Shin Yun Bok: Are you boasting yourself here as a beautiful flower, in my lifetime this is the 1st time I have ever come across such comments?

Jung Hyang: Is it one is to boast oneself as beautiful, will that beautiful flower change to being not so?

Shin Yun Bok: If there isn’t anyone who appreciates it, even how beautiful the flower is, is of no used?

Jung Hyang: Flower is just flowers, to evaluate as beautiful or not, it is just a passing figure of measurement

Shin Yun Bok looks at Jung Hyang

Commentator 2: What…what, you have already known each other previously?

DrunkenS: What are you doing, you ugly woman?

Drunken thrown a wine cup at Jung Hyang

Drunken: What are you starting to play?

The wine cup broke a string from the gayageum & some droplets of wine remnants from the cup splatter on Jung Hyang’s clothes & face

Jang Hyo Won: You wretched brat. What are you doing?

Jung Hyang just takes her handkerchief & wipes the droplet off

    Commentator 2 slaps the drunken

Commentator 2: If you are tired, sleep

Jang Hyo Won: Are you alright? We, the group of apprentices are already very drunk, there is some impoliteness on our part, we are sorry

Jung Hyang: It has already happened, what the use of apologizing?

Jang Hyo Won: The string is already broken, the gayageum can’t be played. I like to invite you to come over here to have a drink with me. Ah! My position is Apprentice Monitor. My name is Jang Hyo Won

Jung Hyang: The music tune is ….

Jang Hyo Won is surprise that she could still play her gayageum with a broken string. Everybody was caught to their attention

Jung Hyang : “Dong Chon Nion Lo, Han Jang”

Jung Hyang plays beautifully as she strums the strings with speed & precision

Jang Hyo Won was slightly disgusted that he couldn’t ask her to do other wise. Everybody start to drown at the lovely music tune. In her tipsiness, Shin Yun Bok gets hypnotic with the music tune of Jung Hyung’s gayageum. On hearing the tune, they are transporter to a distance grass pasture with only with Shin Yun Bok & Jung Hyang playing alone, where Shin Yun Bok returns to her happy childhood when she was riding on her father’s shoulder as her father blows a flute while her mother at the side dancing away to the tune with such great happiness. Shin Yun Bok is drowned by those happy memories, as they walked past them into the distance. Jung Hyang ends the piece as they both return to reality & smiles as Jung Hyang knew she had met someone (Shin Yun Bok) who appreciate her music as it should be

Jang Hyo Won: What are you all doing? Why aren’t you clapping your hands?

    The atmosphere is then spoilt

Everybody are clapping their hands. Shin Yun Bok takes leaves from the room

Commentator 2: Aigoo! It is really, come, let’s us drink, come

Shin Yun Bok walks pass Jung Hyang & turns around

Shin Yun Bok: Your performance is really excellent

Jung Hyang acknowledge the praise as Shin Yun Bok leaves the room

Yi Yin Mun’s house. Kim Hong Do is staying there as a guest

Kim Hong Do is pacing in his room & Yi Yin Mun looks at Shin Yun Bok’s painting

Yi Yin Mun: It is said to be a convention painting, however the brush strokes are really energetic

Kim Hong Do: Look at it carefully. It may be so that these brush strokes will no longer been see in the future.

Yi Yin Mun looks a t Kim Hong Do

Kim Hong Do: It is really a lost. It is really painful pity…pity. Is there be any other way we can think of?

Yi Yin Mun: But Tam Won, if you don’t keep to the centre of focus, your own hands will not be able to retain.

Kim Hong Do: There is an ancient saying when heaven opens, we may be able to find a new way out of it

Kim Hong Do is trying to find a way

Outside the house, Yi Yin Mun’s sister Yi Jung Suk tries to eavesdrop when the door opens wide & frighten her & Kim Hong Do

    Kim Hong Do: Frighten me!

Yi Yin Mun: Oh! It is Jung Suk, you are here.

    Yi Jung Suk: Yes, Orrabunim

Yi Jung Suk is holding a tray

Yi Yin Mun: What are you doing here?

Yi Jung Suk: Oh! That…I am afraid that you will be thirsty in the night, so I brought you some water

    Kim Hong Do: Yes…Thank you

Kim Hong Do takes the tray from her

Yi Jung Suk then bows & run to put on her shoes, as she about to leave

Kim Hong Do: If it wasn’t for Jung Suk, this lodging house will definitely have someone who had died of thirst. Jung Suk!!!

    Yi Jung Suk: Yes

    Kim Hong Do: Sleep well

Yi Jung Suk: Orrabunim, you too

Yi Jung Suk runs of but stop short

Yi Jung Suk: Ah! Be careful of mosquitoes

Kim Hong Do: Yes, we will

    Yi Jung Suk runs off

Kim Hong Do: Wah! Jung Suk have really gown up

Yi Yin Mun: Grown up & matured, in order to wait for someone

Kim Hong Do: Who?…Me? This person you are really. Don’t say nonsense. Quickly leave, & sleep

Yi Yin Mun sit down to put on his shoes

Yi Yin Mun: When to live in Pyongyang for a period, now looks like you have fast become a person from Pyongyang

Kim Hong Do: You, quickly go to bed

    Yi Yin Mun: Sleep well

Yi Yin Mun bid farewell & Kim Hong Do just smiles

Jang Byuk Soo walking in the dark street suspiciously & goes to a mansion house. It is Wu Sang Dae Gam’s private residence. Wu San Dae Gam, the uncle of Queen Jeong Sun is Jo Young Jung

Jo Young Jung: What is happening to the matter? Has Tam Won find out who the person is?

Jang Byuk Soo: Tomorrow we will know it all

Jo Young Jung: Then, has he really already finds out about who the person is?

Jang Byuk Soo: This is Tam Won, even if I don’t asked him to find out, he will definitely so it on his own accord. Tam Won have been taken in by the apprentice’s gifted talent. Nonstop praising him

There is Kim Gui Joo, he is Queen Jeong Sun’s elder brother. He holds the position as Han yang’s Yi Pan sitting with them

Kim Soo Nion: So there is someone that worth Tam Won’s praise?

Kim Gui Joo: If you can’t find out who the apprentice is, then Tam Won wouldn’t be able to keep his hands, isn’t it?

Jang Byuk Sool: It is will be a great opportunity not to missed

Kim Gui Joo: We thought we go get rid of Tam Won, this pain in the neck, isn’t it so

Jo Yung Jung: Yes it is, we can’t have Tam Won staying in Han yang, for us it is does not proof beneficial

Jo Young Jung: Chusan Chona, what did he go & particularly when all the way to find Tam Won, wouldn’t it there are ulterior motive to this

Kim Soo Nion: What is there for you too worry so much?

Jo Young Jung: Aren’t you worried? Tam Won really have such a pair of razor sharp eyes, then his eyes for recognizing talents is just as sharp

Jang Byuk Soo: Then what is it?

Kim Soo Nion: If it really a pity & a lost, Tam Won wouldn’t he think & finding a way to save this apprentice’s life. If this is so, Tam Won would had to face with 2 choices in front of him. Bring this own to carry out the punishment or leave Han yang. If he leave Han yang, what the incident that happened 10 years ago would be forever shut close. Even if he managed to stay in Han yang after, he will never been able to draw again, just like he was before, continue to be the eyes for Chusan Chona. Then even if is so, Tam Won will be just a tiger without its teeth. This is just an evaluation from a business man point of view

MGY is so wonderful…one of my favorite scenes is at the very end…when she grabs Jung Hyang’s wrist…it was definitely not a girl’s grip…hehe. She was really in character and that teary gaze was unforgettable.
