Danchongsuo.
I will like to give a brief on what Danchongsuo really is. Dancheong painting, in which Danchongsuo (A bureau that is in charge of Dancheong painting) is responsible for, is a Korean style decorative colouring used on buildings that dated back many centuries. It is during the Joseon Dynasty period the diversity & complexity of Dancheong increased to the point that we will see in today in the buildings e.g. the Buddhist temples & Palaces. The implementation of Dancheong painting was made systematically during this period. Dancheong usually uses the colours of red, yellow, blue, black & white. Many of these colours were mainly imported from China then mixed with other binder such as animal, fish or seaweed glues to create a durable paint based. Since these glues are water based, this in turn had to be cover in a layer of oil for waterproofing. This sometimes may proof poisonous. I will assume that lead may be in use to that extend. We can clearly see the health implication of having side effects that is affecting Shin Young Bok. Historically at least in the Joseon Dynasty, the creation of Dancheong was both highly regulated & automated although the Palaces & the Buddhist temples had their own independently regulations. Joseon Dynasty had a nation wide bureau in charge of the palaces Dancheongs. In these, the artistic direction & project management were both concentrate from the same multi skilled individual. (So it seems that Danchongsuo is not as an inferior lowly & despise bureau than to Dohwaseo in terms of skilled, although it is depict like wise in this drama). The selected patterns of the different sizes & type of beams would be painted once & then the design that is applied to the beams will be trace onto it by pricking into the wood with a spike. Now that the outline of the pattern was visible on the beam, the workers filled in the meoricho (pattern used in painting both end of the supporting beams) & other geometric design of the pattern using one colour at the time. This is made it easier to coordinate a large number of relatively unskilled workers. Then finally other elements that couldn’t be applied systematically will be painted on. (That is what Shin Young Bok is doing with his painting skills). You get to see a great extend in this episode

Worker leaves. Shin Young Bok return to paint the Dancheong painting in the buildings. It is usually done around the roof area, so scaffolding is require to reach to those heights. Shin Young Bok climbs the scaffolding & finds his vision is blurring, as he tries to regain his focus. Heo Ok notices it

Back at the palace, Shin Yun Bok is tracing the portrait painting with fine lines. After spending many hours of working, she starts to sweat from her forehead. Kim Hong Do passes her the handkerchief for her to wipe her sweat. She takes it from him & Kim Hong Do takes over the brush & resumes painting the delicate lines as Shin Yun Bok continues to wipe her sweating forehead. The portrait by now becomes more requirement of asking for finer & exquisite in their lines, especially the area where the dragon embroidery of the imperial robes are sewn. Shin Yun Bok testing the lines of her brush in a rough paper & she continues with the tracing. Shin Yun Bok is sweating now in droplets of sweat as she draws. Kim Hong Do comes & wipes the sweat of her nose. By this time the tracing is almost complete as we can see the outline of Jeongjo’s portrait painting. After spending a long time crouching position tracing, Kim Hong Do felt a sudden black out, where Shin Yun Bok catches him from falling faint
Shin Yun Bok: Are you alright, Teacher?
They position was somewhat awkward as now Shin Yun Bok is feeling slight strange with the close body contacts. Shin Yun Bok wipes her sweat off her face. Then they start to live the frame upright

Shin Yun Bok & Kim Hong Do now starts to apply colours to the portrait painting. Shin Yun Bok mixes white. Then hands it to Kim Hong Do the colours & brush. As the mulberry paper is off white, this type of paper need to apply a based colour, usually it is white for the lighter colours. That is why the based colour white is applied onto the face & hands where the flesh colour is very light. Black colour is apply for the head gear
Jang Byuk Soo checks on the store room where the colour ingredients is stored

In the chamber, Shin Yun Bok mixes the red colour ingredient with the binder that his brother has created. She hands it to Kim Hong Do to starts on the application of colour to the imperial robes, then she hands the brush to him. Kim Hong Do then looking at the pallette of the red colour. He then passes the brush back to Shin Yun Bok. Shin Yun Bok takes the brush from him, he also hand back the pallette of red colour. Shin Yun Bok wonder if there anything the matter
Kim Hong Do: You come & applies the colour
Shin Yun Bok: You are allowing me to apply the colours
Kim Hong Do: This colour ingredient is created by your Hyung for you, you should personally applies this colours onto Chusan’s imperial robes, to able to see this colours on it
Shin Yun Bok is so touched by Kim Hong Do’s offer
Shin Yun Bok: Teacher?
Kim Hong Do nods to assure her. Shin Yun Bok sitting in front of the portrait painting as she applies the colour onto the painting. Kim Hong Do then retraces the motif of the dragon with yellow on the red base imperial robes, as Shin Yun Bok does with the red. Shin Yun Bok dozing off at the portrait painting & nearly tarnish it but was quickly grab hold by Kim Hong Do
Kim Hong Do: You little brat….move aside
Portrait is almost completed with the colours as Shin Yun Bok & Kim Hong Do takes turns. Shin Yun Bok is feeling the strain of fatigue
Shin Young Bok on the scaffolding doing the Dancheong painting on the building. His vision starts to blurred as he tries to continue painting the beams. This is the part that he hallucinates that Shin Yun Bok comes dressed in a woman’s hanbok & with the gache wig standing on the scaffolding, smiling at Shin Young Bok
Shin Yun Bok: Hyung!
Shin Young Bok turns around & glad to see Shin Yun Bok. He drops his pallette & shatter at the ground below. The next scene is where Shin Young Bok as an Artist draws a painting of Shin Yun Bok in her hanbok as she sitting there posing for him to draw the painting of her. After the completion of the painting, Shin Yun Bok is seen crying & Shin Young Bok goes to her to wipe her tears away from her face. Returns to the scaffolding Shin Yun Bok walks away from Shin Young Bok
Shin Young Bok: Yun Bok?
Shin Yun Bok turns around & smiles then walks away

Shin Young Bok tries to follow the leaving Shin Yun Bok as he start to go nearer the edge of the scaffolding then collapse & fall down. As this moment Heo Ok comes to see the danger
Heo Ok: Young Bok!!!!! Nooooooo!
Shin Yun Bok feels there is a premonition as she looks on outside
Kim Hong Do: It will almost completed
Shin Yun Bok & Kim Hong Do looking at the portrait painting. Shin Yun Bok notice something
Shin Yun Bok: Just wait a moment. It looks like there is something a miss here, Teacher
Shin Yun Bok then goes & dot a mole at the left eye brow of Jeongjo. Shin Yun Bok return to stand beside Kim Hong Do to admire the completion of the portrait painting
The portrait painting looks remarkable likeness to Bae Soo Bin
Shin Yun Bok looks at Kim Hong Do as Kim Hong Do laughs at the completion. Suddenly Shin Yun Bok collapse under the fatigue from the whole event as Kim Hong Do catches the fainted Shin Yun Bok. Kim Hong Do shakes Shin Yun Bok to regain her conscious
Kim Hong Do: Yun Bok! Yun Bok! Yun Bok! Yun Bok!!!!!
The Palace physician comes to examine Shin Yun Bok who looks like she is sleeping like a log
Palace Physician: After a good rest, he will be able to regain consciousness. After he is awakes, just let him have the medicine soup that is prepare
Kim Hong Do: Yes
Kim Hong Do sent the Palace Physician out. Hong Guk Young comes in to check on them

Hong Guk Young: I have heard that after Oh Jin Hwa Sa is completed, many of them will collapse out of fatigue & exhaustion. Both of you have really done this grand venture well. Now you may leave the palace. You need to be well rested before the “Pong Shi”. You need to regain your strength & energy
Kim Hong Do: I will do so
Hong Guk Young leaves. Kim Hong Do then sits down like a thud

Shin Yun Bok wakes up & rubs her eyes. She gets up & she sees Shin Young Bok in the room. It looks like a dream sequence, there may indicate that Shin Young Bok had died from his scaffolding accident & now is paying his last visit to Shin Yun Bok before he cross over to the other side
Shin Yun Bok: Young Bok Hyung?
Shin Young Bok turns around & smiles
Shin Young Bok: Are you awake?
Shin Yun Bok nods
Shin Young Bok: Why don’t you sleep a while longer?
Shin Yun Bok: Where are you going?
Shin Young Bok: Go & sleep a while longer
Shin Young Bok gets up & leaves
Shin Yun Bok: I want to leave too
Shin Young Bok: You can’t come along
Shin Yun Bok: Where are you going?
Shin Young Bok: Do well, goodbye
Shin young Bok opens the door & a bright light come through the door as Shin Yun Bok need to shield her eyes from the bright light. Shin Young Bok then crosses over into the bright light. Shin Yun Bok tries to call her brother. How gravely to think that the person she rely so much for moral support her brother Shin Young Bok had demised?
Shin Yun Bok: Hyung!!!!!
Shin young Bok disappears into the light as Shin Yun Bok is surprise
